What a wonderful week in the forest filled with excitement and adventure. This week has been about creativity, imagination and fun in our beautiful forest setting.
We started our week with a hands-on baking experience, making banana, coconut and muesli cookies. Our Little Forest Folk-ers loved measuring, mixing and shaping the dough before enjoying their tasty, healthy treats.
Our imaginative play started with a special forest nursery setup! The children took turns being carers and even nursery staff, using dolls, blankets and plenty of nurturing energy. It was wonderful to see so much empathy, teamwork and laughter as they recreated their own version of a cosy nursery in the wild.
Artistic expression was in full swing with elephant hand painting, where little hands became trunks and ears, creating bold and colourful jungle creatures.
By mid-week, each child carefully crafted their own clay birthday cake, thoughtfully adding colourful decorations using natural materials. Their creations sparked imaginative party games and storytelling, with celebrations for their friends in the forest, complete with joyful renditions of "Happy Birthday" echoing through the trees.
Later, the forest floor came to life with play dough trees, our little adventurers shaped trunks out of dough and clay, attaching them to leaves found scattered around the forest. The children used their creativity and resourcefulness to make a forest of their own.
Then came the paper lizards, where our Little Forest Folk-ers put their growing cutting skills to the test as they carefully followed the outlines. They snipped out their shapes before bringing them to life with bright colours, patterns and plenty of personality.
Our little explorers went on many adventurous walks this week, exploring every corner of the forest. They foraged for feathers and pinecones, spotted mushrooms and learned more about the different trees growing all around them.
The children also enjoyed some quiet time in the hammock, gently swaying in the breeze. They laid back, watched the leaves above and listened to the peaceful sounds of the forest.
Overall it has been another amazing week in the forest ,filled with creativity and learning. We are so proud of how our Little Forest Folk-ers continue to express themselves, support one another and embrace every adventure the outdoors brings.
